The Honda Passport was the only off-road car with the frame construction of Honda, it was a result of cooperation of Honda and Isuzu and based on the platform of Isuzu Rodeo. This model was also called Opel Frontera, Honda Passport and Holden Rodeo. For the first time Honda Passport was produced in 1993. In 1998 appeared a second generation of the car. The Honda Passport was truly framed off-road vehicle due to the framed body, axles that were lowering the line in transmission and of course powerful engines. It was necessary to understand that its off-road abilities were in some way limited because of the big stern overhang and small clearance. Honda Passport  Without no doubt, the Honda Passport is one of the most enduring AWD car in its class both in urban conditions and out of road. The last update of the model included the variety of different security assisting systems plus the system of passive safety. It was also installed a new audio system with 8 speakers. Speaking of the engines, it is necessary to mention that there were offered only two variants of them. One had the volume of 2.6 L. The second was aluminum 24-valved DOHC V6, with the volume of 3.2 L and capacity of 205 horsepower at 5400 r / min. The maximum torque was 3000 r / min, it allowed to speed up and easily overcome every road difficulties. It was equipped with 4-speed automatic transmission or 5-speed manual transmission. In the list of technical characteristics of the Honda Passport there were also the fuel consumption of 12.7 L in normal conditions for standard 100 km (that was quite good for the off-road car of its class) and the maximum acceleration to 180 km / h. Honda Passport  This 5-door compact-sized car looked elegantly. The length of it was 4675 mm, the width of 790 mm and the height of 1745 mm. There was quite good standard package, including the air-conditioner, cruise-control system and central locking. Optionally the customers were offered a CD-changer, leathern trimming and the system of control for the accelerator pedal stroke. Honda discontinued this model in 2002. It’s a pity, that now in Honda’s model line there is no worthy subjugator of cross-country except only Honda Ridgeline.
