Since the premiere in April 2004 during the Australian Car show, Ford has sold more than 110 000 copies of the Ford Territory. The renewed Ford Territory SZ (AWD and RWD models, both working on diesel and petrol) was presented during the car show in Australia in 2011.
The new 2.7-litre TDCi V6 turbo-diesel engine (the same power unit is used on The Land Rover Discovery) in both 2WD and 4WD configurations is the proud of Ford’s Australian company. The Ford Territory is also equipped with the 4L 6-cylinder I6 petrol engine. The turbo unit has a Compacted Graphite Iron (CGI) block, the alloy cylinder heads with double overhead camshafts in combination with the intercooled turbocharger.
Speaking about the safety, the new Ford Territory has the installed Dynamic Stability Control, Emergency Brake Assist, and the drivers’ knee airbag in addition to front and side curtain airbags.
The fuel consumption of the Ford Territory working on diesel is 6.5L, so it could easily drive more than 1 000 km without refilling.
All Ford Territory cars use 6-speed automate transmissions.
