Review:

Release of a full size minivan Plymouth Voyager started in 1974. Voyager had two types of performance: a regular 4-door - SWB and extended 6-door - Grand Voyager. It could transport from 12 to 15 passengers, depending on the modification. At first the car was produced only with rear wheel drive and front and all-wheel drive have appeared later. Voyager was offered with three levels of equipment: basic, intermediate SE and the most expensive LE. The design of the body decoration of the last one was based on wood grain finish. The basic version was 5-seater, but it could be ordered with a third row of seats. Then the car, depending on the layout of the cabin, became a 7 or 8-seater. Since 1987, only 5 - and 7-seater cars have remain in the production. Seat upholstery was fabric, velour or leather (LE version). All seats except the driver's one could be removed for increasing the cabin's space. Two side doors of Plymouth Voyager did not open wide, but shift, making the process of parking especially convenient. There were two cup holders next to each seat. Plymouth Voyager Dimensions of the basic body were 4503/1829/1646 mm with a wheelbase of 2845 mm. Grand Voyager version, the next generation of which was released in 1987, had the following figures: 4874/1829/1643 mm with base of 3025 mm. The front suspension consisted of a control arm, spring loaded struts and sway bar; the rear consisted of continuous beam of axle, springs and sway bar. Front brakes were ventilated disc and rear brakes were drum. Plymouth Voyager The car came with a four-cylinder petrol engine with volume from 2.5 to 2.6 liters, or with a six-cylinder engine with volume of 3.0 and 3.3 liters. The 3-liter version was presented with two engines, the power of which was 136 and 142 horsepower. 3.3-liter engine was able to develop 160 horsepower. The car was offered with five-speed manual or automatic gearboxes (three- or four-stage). Later technical characteristics of Plymouth Voyager / Grand Voyager were slightly improved. There was a version completed with 3.8-liter engine. In 1996 and 1997, the model was included in the Top 10 cars of the year.
