Review:
The largest producer of cars in Malaysia is Proton, which presented its remarkable product named Proton Persona in the year 1995. The car was built on the same platform as Mitsubishi Lancer. Persona even resembles this Japanese vehicle. There are three variants of the car: it was produced as sedan, coupe and five-door hatchback.
Proton Persona in sedan mode has four variants, which were equipped with different petrol and diesel engines. The most powerful variant of Proton Persona had a V4 petrol 1.6-liter power plant, which delivered 113 horsepower. The engine was coupled to five-speed manual transmission, with final power coming to the front wheels. The maximum available speed of the vehicle is 187 km per hour. The fuel consumption of 7 liters per 100km makes the car rather economical, as compared to its closest rivals.

The dimensions of the vehicle are 4360mm/1690mm/1385mm. The wheelbase of the car is 2500mm. The standard specification offers the airbag for a driver, power windows and side mirrors. Other amenities are represented by air-conditioning and an audio system.
The compact three-door hatchback Proton Persona was first produced in the year 1996. The platform of the car is shared by the Japanese Mitsubishi Colt. The model was represented by four modifications. The most economic one was equipped with a petrol V4 1.3-liter engine, producing 75 horsepower. The engine was equipped with 5-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. The maximum speed of 164 km/h was a very decent result for such a power source. The car could reach the limit of 100km/h in 13 seconds.

The most powerful version of this compact vehicle has a 1.8-liter engine, capable of 135 horsepower, which was coupled to 5-speed manual gearbox. This modification acquired an extended length of the body.
The interior of all the first versions was very ergonomic. The design of the cabin was step by step changed to become more comfortable for the occupants. The sporty seats were replaced by more comfortable ones. The instrument panel was replaced by a more suitable digital display, which allowed better view of the most important motor’s parameters.
The dimensions of the car make it perfect for tight city streets and parking. The car is a willing workhorse, ready to tackle every day needs of ordinary people. The dashboard provides nice and comfortable control of the vehicle, which helps to concentrate more on the road and enjoy the ride.
