Tata Aria is a mid-size, 7-passenger luxury minivan with frame design from Indian manufacturer Tata Motors. The serial car, built on a new platform with the code name X2, was presented at AutoExpo in New Delhi in 2010.
Exterior of the seven-seat SUV is a kind of mixture of minivan and SUV traits. The length of the car is 4780 mm, width is 1895 mm, height is 1785 mm. Trunk volume is 240 liters, and the car's curb weight is 1920kg. Large wheel base, which is equal to 2850 mm, 1580-millimeter wheelspan and a 200-mm ground clearance indicate the vehicle's off-road capabilities.
Tata Aria is offered only in one variant which is equipped with a 2.2-liter four-cylinder 140-hp diesel engine with direct injection system DiCOR. Torque figure is rather high - 320 Nm. The power unit of Indian production can accelerate the car to its maximum speed of 190 kilometers per hour. The company plans to represent modification with a more powerful 170-horsepower engine. In the basic configuration the car has a rear-drive. AWD system Adapterra Torque-on-Demand, which automatically distributes the torque between axles depending on road conditions, is available as an option. The fuel tank's capacity is 60 liters. Average fuel consumption is 8.7 liters per hundred kilometers.
In addition to this, Tata Aria is equipped with a range of modern systems that facilitate driving: the Electronic Stability Program (ESP), traction control system (TSC), anti-lock brake system (ABS) with electronic brake force distribution (EBD).
