Suzuki Intruder is a series of motorcycles of cruiser style, produced by the Japanese company Suzuki from 1985 to 2005. In 2005, the Intruder, Marauder, Desperado series were combined into a single series of Boulevard. The family of choppers "Suzuki Intruder" is unique because all its models resemble each other like two drops of water. They differ only in size and working volumes of constant V-Twin. The first two models of "Intruder" - "VS750" and "VS1400" have appeared in 1986.
Intruder 750 had double cylinder V-shaped engine of liquid cooling with 4-valve cylinder heads (80x74, 4mm, 747sm3, 63 hp at 7000 rev / min.), 5-speed gearbox and the drive shaft of the wheel drive. Size of the front tire was 100/90-19, and of the rear was 140/90-15. Dry weight of the bike was 186 kg.
Not many things have been changed. In 1991 "VS1400" has received 5-speed transmission (instead of the 4-speed), and the modification of the "VS750" was replaced with "VS800" in '94. Its engine was derated; front wheel has increased up to 21 inches (instead of 19).
Suzuki Intruder is a series of cruisers with four-stroke V-Twin engines in volume of 399, 599, 699, 747, 805 and 1360 cm3, water cooled (1360 - Air-oil), with a single Mikuni carburetor per cylinder. There are a transmission represented with a multi-plate clutch in oil bath with hydraulic drive, 5-speed mechanical CPR of constant mesh, PTO drive. The maximum speed that can be developed by Intruder 1400 is 170km / h. Fuel capacity of Suzuki Intruder 1400 is 13 liters.
There are double piston single disc brakes on the front wheel (on the left on the models of 1985-1987, and on the right at later models) and drums on the rear, except for version 1400 (single disc). Suspension is a telescopic front fork. Swing arm has two shock absorbers.
Feature of these bikes is an exceptional ease of operation. It is achieved through corresponding geometry of chassis. The base of all models, except for the volumetric, is unusually small for choppers. It is very convenient that you can pick up the bike according to your physiology, and of course financial opportunities. But at the same time all the "Intruders" have one thing in common: they are more compact than their competitors.
