XDrive system constantly monitors the rotation of the wheels and distributes torque between the front and rear wheels so that the car passed the trajectory effectively. On the basis of data received by stabilization system DSC, xDrive in advance recognizes possibility of skidding and prevent its occurrence by redistributing torque. Normally, the time is distributed between front and rear axles in the ratio of 40:60. This basic relationship constantly changes smoothly. There is also the concept of «sDrive», which defines a rear-drive car. When people talk about the car without any additional indexes usually have in mind or all the modifications of the model (BMW 330 - i, d, ci, xi, xd, cd) or carbureted version of the car, which in our time is quite difficult to meet. Although the first version of the widely-spread machines of Bavarian automakers like BMW 518 (produced from 1974 to 1987), BMW 520 (released in 1972 in the E12 body), BMW 316 (1975-1987) and a number of other development of specialists began their life with a carbureted version. But later, in the course of evolution, carburetor power system successfully was replaced by a better system of direct (distributed) injection. It allows more efficient use of car resources, fuel and at the same time to reach more impressive performance in terms of power and top speed.
