Since after its first introduction at the Detroit auto show back in 2008 Passat CC was launched into production. It is made only at the VW factory in Emden as the Passat Variant. The vehicle was built on the basis of the well proved itself Passat B6. However it cannot be said that it is only a modification of the usual Passat. The high management is positioning Passat CC as the car of more comfortable class. Everything is to fill a market niche between the classical Passat and the representative Phaeton. Moderately lensed headlights and bulged out wheel arches make this model a real dream of hooligans.
When you get in the first time, you feel yourself a little bit low but quite comfortable. It remains strong image of the sport car in particular while sitting inside; the field of vision is really striking too. The doors open wide; the front ones do almost 90 degrees. So it means – no problems with boarding. No problems with all.
Fuel consumption within the city is about 10-11 l., tank volume - 70 l.
It is hard to compare the new Passat CC with the wide range of similar cars: Audi A4, BMW 3, Lexus IS 250, Infiniti G25, MB C-Class, Opel Insignia, Subaru Legacy, and the Volvo S60. But there's nothing to prevent you to make test drive and get your own opinion sooner or later.
There are no problems occurred with the transmission even in a ragged big city rhythm with 6-step «robot». May be there is certain slowness in the normal D-mode, but frankly speaking – it is worth driving. Passat CC is able to gain speed up to a hundred in 8.5 seconds – it is a really big achievement for cars of its class!
