Review:

1969 Ford Cobra Ford Cobra appeared in 1969 as a part of a Ford Fairlane/Torino family. Although the name “Cobra” is not an official one and comes from the 428 Cobra Jet engine, the standard equipment of this model, this car was often referred as Cobra rather than Torino or Fairlane. The main reason for this car to appear was the growing competition in the so called “muscle car” segment of the market ruled by the Plymouth and Dodge Super Bee at that time. The wide tires, new suspension type, a four-speed stick and average price of 3.200 $ were about to make a difference in the sports car market of the early 70-s. ford cobra The basic engine was presented by the 428 Cobra Jet with 335 hp and 440-lbs.ft. of torque capacity. The two transmission options were available: a manual four-speed "Toploader" transmission and C6 automatic one. The new engine option appeared the next year and had a 428-4V Super Cobra Jet engine installed in all the following advanced models. It was designed for drag racing specifically and the new engine package was called the "Drag Pack". ford cobra The Ford Cobra had a serious package of options you could kill for back in 1969. It included four-speed manual transmission, F70-14 tires, great suspension and extraordinary blacked-out grilles. And all the car lovers could be more than happy with the metal "Cobra" emblems. The car came in two body styles, the two-door hardtop and Sports Roof. Its visual features were presented by the complete lack of any exterior badges except for the small Cobra emblems and the blacked-out grilles. And that was the greatest design choice for a car like that. It immediately cached your eye and made an unforgettable first impression. Cobra’s interior was a great extension to its exterior design. All-vinyl salon completed with stark door panels and comfortable bucket seats made you feel like a movie star when driving in a Cobra. And the radio system with dual rear seat speakers made it impossible not to love this car. Another great thing about Ford Cobra was its acceleration, it could obtain 150 km/hour in almost 15 seconds.
