Ford F550 is a series of super duty trucks produced by the Ford Company since 1999. The model line consisted of three variations: the XL, XLT and Lariat. The wheelbase of these models varied from 141.0 to 201.0 inches. The first available engine was the 6.8 liter V10 that appeared in early models. The following modifications and updates included a V8 6.0 liter turbo diesel engine used for the 2003-2007 models, the V8 6.2 liter gasoline engine appeared in 2010, the V8 6.4 liter turbo diesel engine used for the international-built trucks, the 7.3 liter engine for the 1999-2002 models and a V8 6.7 liter turbo diesel installed in 2011 and recent Ford F550 trucks. The available transmissions were the six-speed manual and five- and six-speed automatic.

The 6.8 liter gasoline engine built on the Ford Modular V10 engine, a five-speed auto transmission, power steering, ABS brake system, 19-inch tires, steel wheels, two-speaker audio system with radio and 886 kg of total weight of the car was the basic equipment of a Ford F 550 XL model.
The XLT had all the XL’s characteristics with some additional features such as chrome front grille, the improved audio CD and MP3 and four instead of two speakers system, keyless entry, power door locks and air conditioning system. The latest F550 model Lariat has all of the XLT’s features with some additional options of heated leather seats or Ford Sync System to be installed.
