Mitsubishi Triton represents a unique compact pickup truck with double cab. Mitsubishi's own plants in Thailand began to produce the vehicle in fall of 2005. It was basically directed to the Japanese market. Besides Asian market, the new models of the car were exported as well in South America and many European countries, where Triton was highly estimated and appreciated. Exterior of the vehicle does not have any trace of a simple truck, it has absolutely new stylish look. The idea of the design of the front side of the car body is very similar to sports cars of "Paris-Dakar" rally. Standard package of the interior includes a leather steering wheel, gearshift and transfer gear-box, as well as sports seats with the side support.
Japan market version of the vehicle is equipped only with a 3.5-liter gasoline engine with 6-cylinder which has now maximum power of 186 hp (plus 8 hp in comparison with previous version). Also engine includes an electronic handling of the throttle control and maximum rotational moment of 30.9 kg-m (plus 0.8 kg-m in comparison with previous version). It combines a 4-step automatic front transmission as well as the four-wheel drive system Â«Easy SelectÂ». In the center of the instrument panel appeared a connector, which allows connecting of 2DIN navigation system and other needed equipment. In addition in February 2009 Concern added a new choice of the color - Â«Deep blue micaÂ» so the total became three. Design of the radiator grille, color of fendersâ€™ extenders (they are the same color as the body now), seat covers, the color of the control panel were changed.
Overall dimensions of the Mitsubishi Triton: total length - 4995 mm, overall width - 1800 mm, total height 1780 mm. Total weight is 1840 kg and wheelbase is 3000 mm. There is a choice of two-door version with a double (Single Cab), two-door with four seats version (Club Cab) and the five-seat version with four-door (Double Cab). Air conditioning, sound system, manual transmission, electronic locking rear differential and Electronic Stability ESP are the options.
