Chevrolet Monte Carlo is a two-door compartment getting through 6 generations from 1970 to 2007 year. He was created as luxurious auto in form factor of compartment, produced by unchanging through all the history, outliving the great number of competitors, that were either stopped or farther more changed the conception toward sedan or less sporting compartment. Concept, I must say, a very good one. Even the very thing I put it mildly, did not count.
«Monte Carlo» was created on «G-platform» Pontiac Grand Prix that was entered as early as 1969. Monte Carlo planned Elliot M. Estes, general manager Chevrolet and main designer by Dave Holls. He possessed remarkable abilities, and now sees the «pen master» will not make difficulties. He creates stunning masterpieces, it is impossible not to agree.
They designed style «under» modern Cadillac Eldorado, although greater part of lines of basket was borrowed with Chevrolet Chevelle (bumper, frontal glass and side windows were interchangeable).
The 350th (5,7 L.) small V8 block of Chevrolet «Turbo-Fire» became a standard engine with two carburetors, giving out 250 L. with at 4500 rpm in a pair with three-speed «mechanics». A device panel is similarly adopted with Chevelle. Except for finishing of salon «under a tree», that was copied with Rolls - Royce. It was for sale after 3123$ in standard acquisition.
But also the different variants of additions were similarly accessible: the two speed automatic box of Turbo-Hydromantic, steering booster, powered, conditioner and even electro mechanic of seats, as a result a price jumped up to 5000$.
The most sporting and powerful variant was Monte Carlo SS with a 454th engine. The package appraised in 420$ included standard Turbo - Jet 454th block (7,4 L.) with four carburetors, by power 360 L. with (269 kW) at 4800 rpm. He also included an increase pendant and more wide tires.
In 1986 the model of Aero coupe, as modification of basket of SS, is presented with more inclined back glass, short lid of luggage rack and sporting spoiler on him. 200 pcs of aero coupe was produced in all.
A sixth generation was similarly knowable; the peak oriented lanterns were borrowed from junior generations, as well as stylized back bumper.
On June 19, 2007 got off with conveyor two last Monte Carlo. This was Monte Carlo SS red color with a 5,3 with a capacity of one the L. V8 engine in 303 L./with(226 kW) and 18 by one inch alloy disks.
