«Packard 300» represents the car which has been developed by experts of the company «Packard 300» and was issued since 1951 for 1952. For the first time the car has been presented to general public per 1951.
In 1951 a model number of company «Packard» has undergone to significant updating under a direct management of the skilled designer and designer John Reinhart. Cars have received new design and the chassis. The new model «Packard 300» was in the top part of an average range model of some company «Packard». The car settled down significantly above models «Packard 200» and «Packard 250». At the top model of some the model «Patrician 400» has been located.
The car «Packard 300» was issued mainly, as a sedan. The wheel base of the car makes 3226 mm, thus the new model had all necessary options which were available in models «200» and «250». The car differed the impressive dimensions: length – 5537 mm, width – 1981 mm, height – 1600 mm, a road gleam – 191 mm. The weight of the car makes 1771 kg that does its very stable at movement on road. Thus designers of the company have decided to pay due attention to creation of the unique external ex-terrier and an internal interior of the car. Special glasses have been established, and the upholstery of salon has been executed from a fabric. On a cowl the magnificent chrome plated pelican and an ornament of company «Packard» is located. It is necessary to note, that a design of a back part of a roof of the car which is wrapped up around of back glass, it has been borrowed at model «Patrician».
The car «Packard 300» differed from other models availability of the chrome plated line on wings and doors, wheel disks, a unique bar of a radiator and an impressive forward bumper.
The manufacturer establishes 8 cylinder power unit «Packard Super Eight», volume of 5,4 liters, same as it is established on model of the car «250». On the power unit 3 step mechanical box of switching of transfers was established. Thus as an additional option, the buyer could get an automatic box of switching of transfers – «Packard Ultramatic».
