"Vauxhall" has existed since 1857. (Vauxhall means one of the the quarter in London. It was founded by Alexander Wilson. At first the company was well-known as a manufacturer of marine engines. In 1896 it offered a wide range of internal combustion engines. The first vehicle "Vauxhall 5NR" was equipped with single-cylinder boxer engine with 5 hp with chain drive, a spring suspension and steering to the trailing arm. Its analog was American Brushmobile. Next model "6NR" completely repeated design of “first child”, but already had a reverse gear. In 1905 "Vauxhall" moved from London to Luton in the county of Bedfordshire. Soon there new models of the car appeared.
