Review:

Ford Taunus is a great family of Ford cars initially sold only in Europe since 1939. During its great history Taunus series relived many generations and remodeling with the last one ending in 1994. Ford Taunus The first ever Ford Taunus was called G93A and was based on the Ford Eifel model. It appeared in 1939 and had a four-cylinder 1172 cc engine. The difference between Ford Eifel and Taunus lay in the larger chassis and longer body. The interesting thing is that this was the first ever German Ford car to get the hydraulic brakes. Because of the war the production of this car stopped for six years and was renewed in 1948. In 1952 the first after war German Ford appeared. The model was called 12M and had an unusual styling that slightly resembled the British Zephyr. This version had an 1172 cc engine that was able to get 38 hp (28 kW) of power and 112 km/h of maximum speed. The 12M line production was continued until 1970. Along with the 12M series a bigger version of Ford Taunus appeared in 1957. It was called 17M and was replaced by the 20M and 26M in the following years. The 17M lasted until 1960 and had three various engine packages: the 1.5 liter 1498 cc, the 1.7 liter 1968 cc and the 1.8 liter 1758 cc. This one resulted to be a very successful car. In 1970 Taunus TC was introduced. This model had four body styles available, the usual two- or four-door sedan, the coupe and the station wagon. The Taunus TC line was followed by TC2 and TC3 in 1976 and 1979. In early 1972 the European production of these cars was stopped but they were still assembled in Argentina until 1993. The total amount of 72,024 vehicles was built in Argentina during the entire production time. Ford Taunus The world success of this car may be explained by the right amount of features and characteristics that were always introduced in time. With every new model line or modification Ford Taunus gave people around the world everything they wanted in a car along with the always highest level of comfort and performance.
