The Mitsubishi Fuso Canter is a model line of light-duty commercial vehicle created by Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation. The line is currently sold in Europe, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia and in number of Asian countries. The same line has been produced in North America from 1985 by Mitsubishi Fuso Truck, but it has been called E model instead the Canter till 2012-model year.
The Canter maker\'s label appeared at first in March 1963 on the existing line of light-duty trucks - T720. The previous series were presented with the T710 (1960). These early versions were marketed almost everywhere in Asia. By the way, the Asia-Pacific was the principal market for the Mitsubishi Fuso Canter until the beginning of 1970s. Later, the series were intended for export or local spreading in markets of Europe, North and the Middle-East America. At the same time, in many markets the Mitsubishi Canter was not affordable for every customer, so it was replaced by the Mitsubishi Fuso Truck right when that model became being offered for worldwide market in the beginning of 1980s.
The last generation of Canter offers a fresh design, environmental friendliness, excellent fuel economy and safety. By the way, it is the first light truck in Japan, ready to meet the new standards on emissions JP09. With these figures, the new family of Canter can now meet more stringent standards, which will come in Japan in 2015.
The new Canter is equipped with an easy and very efficient diesel engine with low fuel consumption. Depending on the operating conditions, the truck can save from 5 to 8% less fuel than its predecessor. The power unit is specifically designed for the light truck segment, having a much lower emissions of NOx, solid particles and CO2.
In addition, the new engine brake reduces brake pad wear and decrease the time in fact by 20% by reducing the amount of work required.
The new Canter is equipped Duonic transmission with double clutch. The last one - Duonic combines the benefits of automated gearbox with a conventional manual one. On top, a reduction in fuel consumption can be compared with the same of automatic transmission including the reduction of emissions.
Internal and external filling of Canter was also completely redesigned. In particular, the modified design of the frame, wheel suspension, braking system, which made the truck easier and safer than its predecessor.
