Belgian manufacturers have announced the release of a Minerva JM Brabazon supercar
This two-door should be built around a carbon fiber monocoque. Power to weight ratio should be 1 hp 1 kg. Belgian manufacturers are trying to remind us of two names with this project. First one is a brand of Minerva, that sold cars from 1902 to 1956. Interestingly, in first decade of XX century this was one of the companies that produced cars with Knight engines. However, their own original company stopped producing such models in the late 1930s, and after the Second World War, only a relatively short time assembled vehicles for the Belgian Army under Land Rover license.
Second name is the one of baron John Theodore Cuthbert Moore-Brabazon, a British aviator and racing driver, minister of transport and aviation industry in Churchill. In 1907 Minerva vehicle (with engine capacity of 8 liters) was the one he won the Rally of the Bulge with. New car got the Brabazon name, as the forgotten brand is aiming for a comeback with small scale supercar.
The vehicle must receive five power plant and chassis models: economical, normal, sport, racing and secure (for icy or wet roads). Depending on the mode, the car uses mainly electric traction or engine traction, completely enables or disables the power steering and so on.
The Minerva JM Brabazon supercar is is represented only in the form of drawings for now. Remembering the many attempts to revive old models, you can say this company needs to be really careful with this model. The conceived parameters of Minerva JM Brabazon are the following: a mid-engine coupe will be moved by the V12 unit with twin turbochargers, completed with a pair of electric motors on the front axle. ICE will be connected to the rear axle and a six-speed transmission. This hybrid system must accelerate the supercar to speed over 400 km / h. But well, it can always be electronically limited. The release date of Minerva J.M. Brabazon coupe is still unknown, as well as its approximate price. But it is expected to be revealed any time soon, as there might be many interested buyers already.
