Chrysler 200 mid-size sedan of the next generation, which will also have a brother if compared by the face of a new four-door Dodge, will be produced at Chrysler plant in Sterling Heights at the beginning of next year. That’s why we hope that this car will be available to buy by the end of the next year.
Both sedans should get the latest ACP with almost nine gears.
Chrysler Company has officially announced that the new generation 200 sedan will be produced at the plant in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The production will start at the beginning of next year. To prepare the release of new model starting from July 1, the company shut down its plant for five weeks. And it seems now that two models, and not one, will be assembled at that plant. We’re talking about the four-door Dodge, which will be the one to replace Avenger.
It turns out that, contrary to previous reports of the Company, Avenger will become a reality. Although the name of this model will most likely be replaced by a new one. But the main thing is not even this news – is the one that both new sedan, which is designed specifically to move Toyota Camry, Honda Accord and Ford Fusion (Mondeo) on the North American market, will be based on a stretched Compact US Wide platform (that was also used to built Dodge Dart and Jeep Cherokee) which is a result of Fiat’s architecture C-Evo.
It is expected that Chrysler 200, as well as its brother Dodge, will be slightly larger and more spacious than their current models. As for the engines, the 200 model and the new Avenger (let\'s call it this way for now) will still have a four-and six-cylinder petrol engines available, but the same V6 3.6 Pentastar will supposedly be replaced with its more economical variation with a displacement of 3.2 liters.
Chrysler plant in Sterling Heights is expanding. $ 165 million and $ 850 million were invested in new plant’s subdivisions. It is assumed that the world premiere of the new Chrysler 200 will be held in January of 2014 at the Detroit Motor Show.
