Bentley presented its new Flying Spur sedan.
The world’s public debut of the most powerful four-door Bentley will take place at the Geneva Auto Show in March. And while we wait for this miracle to be officially presented, we might as well prepare ourselves for the Flying Spur premiere.
Designers saved the recognizable parts of the car but made them more athletic and muscular that is really visible in the back of the car. Although the actual width and wheelbase remained the same, the old 1976 and 3065 mm, British designers implemented some interesting features to make the new Flying Spur visibly wider. These features include the new rear flashlights and the air-intake in the front bumper combined with the long chrome bar.
The engine of the Flying Spur is presented with the 6.0 liter W12 one with two turbocharging mechanisms. Its capacity is 625 hp and 800 n/m and as the Bentley’s management states, this is the most powerful vehicle in the entire company’s history. The car is also equipped with the eight-speed ZF automatic transmission and Quickshift speed changing system. The acceleration time for a 100 km/hour speed takes 4.6 seconds; the maximum speed is 322 km/hour.
The new Flying Spur is using a two-stage suspension system that improves the car’s stability and reduces the aerodynamic drag. When the speed reaches 195 km/hour the car’s position is lowered with 5 mm at the front and 10 mm at the back. Starting from the 240 km/hour 8 mm and 13 mm are added to the initial numbers.
The interior design of the Flying Spur looks really familiar but it has 600 new features and parts. The salon palette includes seven types of material to choose from, twelve types of fabric and seventeen color schemes for the body.
The Flying Spur will be available as a four- or five-door version. The interior feature packages include the multimedia complex with sensor display in the main console as well as in the back of the car. Oh, and there’s also a built-in internet access. If that’s still not enough the latest generation of Flying Spur has an eight-speaker 1100 Watt audio system.
