GMC General or better known as the Chevrolet Bison is a heavy duty car that was designed as the class 8 truck under the assistance and help of General Motors Group within the time span of 1977 to 1988. Both these two models were tuned and adjusted for the conventional rigs, thus added with standard features and mechanisms of diesel lengine options that comprise of Caterpillar, Cummins and Detroit Diesel powerplants. The GMC General was also available in other transmission type such as the Allison transmission, eaton and the spicer to name a few. Introduced and launched in the year of 1976, this General or Bison vehicles of heavy duty trucks was manufactured till the year of 1980, after which the division of Chevrolet ceased off from the market of heavy duty class 8 truck market in the year of 1980.
GMC is actually a manufacturer of the commercial trucks that also include vans, cargo vehicles, military options and buses, especially in the markets of North America and the Middle East. It was in the year of 2007 that the GMC or General Motors Corporation became the second largest selling division for North American automobile markets after the division of Chevrolet but ahead of the Pontiac group.
