Lada 1600 is a product from AvtoVAZ, a Russian car manufacturer. It was begun as the export brand for models that were sold under the Zhiguli name after June 1966. The Lada cars gained popularity in Eastern Europe and Russia in the concluding decades of the Soviet era, symbolizing urban life. The original Lada was extensively exported in station wagon and sedan versions. For the record, Lada sold 20 million units sold before finally wrapping up production in mid-2012. It was the highest selling automobile without any major design changes.
