Yamaha V-Max

Yamaha V-Max which is also known as the VMAX was manufactured since 1985 and it is designated as a power cruiser bike. Since 2008 it has started to be sold as VMAX and it was recognized for its shaft drive, powerful V-4 and characteristic styling. The bike was integrated with a liquid cooled DOHC engine displacing 1.197cc and generated 113.5hp and 83.1lb-ft torque. The engine was mated to a 5-speed transmission and its wheel base was 63-inches and measured 91-inches in length and 31.3-inches in width. Standing at 46-inches height it seated the driver at 30.1-inches. Having a wet weight of 286kg and the bike stored 4.0 US gallon of petrol. The bike had many things in common with Yamaha Venture. Fuel consumption of the bike was measured at 34.2mpg US. When it was released it instantly gorged critical acclaim and became the Bike of the Year by Cycle Guide in 1985.  It was marketed both in the US and Japan. Till 2007 its sale continued with just a few modifications in between. The V-Max was earmarked for its quick pickup, but sharp criticism was offered for its inability to corner and for its lighter suspension. The original V-Max bike was marked through Star Motorcycles of Yamaha until 2008.
