The latest spun off by the General Motors Company’s revised D2XX compact car platform is believed to be the next generation of Opel Astra. This comes post GM’s successful development and near finalisation of the Chevrolet Cruze, 2016 model. A prototype of Opel Astra has already been spotted as doing the rounds of the track.
The trail product is equipped with the body style of a five-door hatchback, and even after the heavy camouflaging it can easily be rendered that the new model in its proportions will be along similar lines to that of the current Opel Astra.
The front is expected to boast of a styling and design similar to its Adam mini car. Whereas the rear look is expected to be finely chiselled, somewhere along the lines or influenced by Opel’s Monza concept from 2013, one of its more forward looking range.
In fashion similar to what was generated with Opel’s current Astra model, the new inclusion would also be seen developed with several variants including a sedan, GTC Coupe and a Sports Tourer Wagon. Power generated will be as a result of the GM’s next generation Ecotec family. This comes equipped with 3 and 4 cylinder units, with variants including gasoline and diesel flavours.
