You could be seeing a driverless car soon on the roads that is after 4 years with a condition that there is no human interference stopping its progress in the form of red tape. CEO of Renault-Nissan, Carlos Ghosn said that there is no issue with the technology for making the car but there is issue with the legislation that would interfere with the making.

Talking on the occasion of a French automobile club event Carlos Ghosn further added that these cars with the mind of their own would hit the streets of countries like the US, Japan and France by the year 2018. Auto giants like Renault, Volvo and Tesla are already working on a prototype whereas the German maker Mercedes-Benz had already carried out tests on an S class last year. The tested vehicle had no accelerator, brake nor steering wheel to guide. As per the Google project “Self-Driving car Project” the car simply had two buttons, one to start the car and the other to stop it. A screen was placed inside the car to show the route it is driving. There are a lot of questions to be answer like what if a crash happens and there would be different set of traffic rules etc.
