Is our sense of adventurism strong? Volvo has been speaking the opposite of this which hugely reflected in the automobiles it offered to public. The brand enjoys the reputation of being safe family cars and also environment-friendly besides being highly durable. These vehicles are not certainly designed for adventurism.
In the recent times, Volvo is attempting to bring in adventure to its automobiles by spicing them up. The outcome of this has given a special edition spring “Ocean Race” which was termed by the automobile manufacturers as among the most grueling of adventures.
On the ground level, nobody plays it safer than soccer moms and proverbial college professors behind the wheels of a crossover from the Swedish company. The new XC60 Ocean Race has been aimed to represent the soul of human challenge with the special comforts of the Volvo. You can term the Ocean Race as wild, but this special edition with a maritime theme vibes well with this SUV. 18-inch wheels have been added; the blue paint job bespeaks the theme by resembling the hue of the cheerful lagoon in place of the oceans steel blue. Add to this you have black or blonde leather seats stitched with orange.
There are two Powertrains on offer, one the 302hp T6 Drive-E with turbo-charging and the T6AWD being the other with turbo charged straight six offering 300hp. The former is offered in front-wheel-drive with 8-speed automatic transmission, and the all-wheel-drive has been offered a 6-speed transmission.
The ocean drive package with cosmetic makeover is priced at $1400 over the starting model which scoots the price up to $42,100 and the Drive-E with AWD will cost $43, 600. With so much of baubles, the price can be accepted as pretty good, and the car does not require being overly adventurous. What say?
