Hot Hatch Audi RS3 Debuts and packs 367 Horsepower

An über A3 is ready for release by Audi in the guise of new RS3 Sportback. The A3 is powered with a 2.5 Liter inline 5-cylinder and is a compliment to the Audi’s proud legacy of Quattro rally cars with five cylinders.

The RS3 hatch of previous generation was loved by everyone and the new entrant gives promise to do better. Power measuring 340 to 367hp is derived from the engine and there is equal volume of torque in 343lb-ft @1625 to 5550. A wet dual clutch automatic with seven speed feeds power to all the wheels, however a manual to the disappointment of enthusiasts is not available with this one. The car takes 4.3 seconds to reach the 0-62mph and it is able to generate a governor limited 155mph. if you pay more than you may be able achieve 174mph which incidentally is higher than the GLA45 AMG and CLA45 models of Benz.

An active exhaust that opens the muffler flaps to produce full sound depending on the situation is used for exhaling by the engine.  The five cylinders is hand assembled and use iron block and is able to produce a maximum boost of 18.9psi. The carbon ceramic brakes are used in the Audi as a first and will be assisted by eight piston calipers. The Quattro all-wheel-drive has been honed for producing more tail-happy performances. This is a welcome change as the previous car was having difficulty in rotating in mid-corners. A torque vectoring system which is brake based is present in the vehicle and direct either the front or rear axle. The suspension has also been fortified and has exclusive steering knuckles in aluminum.

Wheels measuring 19-inch are available in aluminum, glossy black or matter gray and are encased in 235/35 standard rubber. For the front wheels however the extra wide 255/30 is optionally available. So far no confirmation from Audi has come forward about the RS3 being offered in the US.
