Nissan Juke remains funky & gains important fuel economy figures for all models
The all people favorite automotive doppelganger is back here and it is named Juke. For the 2015 it has not lost its funkiness one bit. There is no aesthetical upgrade for the mid-life refresh of the crossover. New colors are available, lighting has been changed and the fascia has received slight tweaking in the front and the vehicle has more standard features in offer. The features are weird as it is with the Austin and the efforts are mostly aimed towards the debuting global version for the Geneva Auto
Show next year.
The information divulged here is for the Juke scheduled to be released in the US market hence it is worth paying attention. The 1.6 Liter engine of Juke is carried over with the same power output of 188hp and 177lb-ft torque but Nissan claims that substantial revisions have been done to extract lower emissions and higher response. The NISMO RS model once again has more power with 215 hp and in the front-drive versions has a limited-slip differential. It is coupled to a six speed manual transmission. The transmission is no more applicable to the standard Juke anymore and the option is reserved for the NISMO and NISMO RS models as an option for the buyers. The rest like the SV and luxury SL will have to do with an Xtronic CVT from Nissan.
The changes have enabled the Juke to offer better fuel economy at EPA. The Juke models with front wheel drive S, SV and SL now offers 28mpg compared to 27mpg last year and the highway figures reads like 32mpg. The front wheel drive manual only Juke NISMO for both cycle gains 3mpg more making it 28mpg and 34 mpg. The all-wheel-drive NISMO with Xtronic also gains 1mpg at 27mpg and the highway figure of 31mpg remains.
