Nissan plans to release Hybrid Murano and Rogue Crossovers post Models’ Redesign
Nissan plans to release Hybrid Murano and Rogue Crossovers post Models’ Redesign

Crossovers Murano and Rogue of Nissan are due for a replacement by next year probably and the news comes now that the car manufacturer is planning to offer the hybrid versions of both vehicles. It was revealed at the annual product presentation event of Nissan and the same has been covered by GCR (Green Car Reports). So far not much data is available on the subject but according to GCR the senior vice president, Carla Bailo of Nissan said that the cars are likely to appear in the auto market by next year probably as the models for 2015.

When contacted for reaction the Nissan spokespersons the comments from the VP or R&D and just repeated that the company is commitment to build electrified and hybridized vehicles. A hybrid version of the Rogue and Murano is quite sensible considering that Nissan has recently added the gas-electric choice for the Pathfinder. You can bet your money, that the Rogue will be the one to arrive fist as the small crossover is due for a reveal in 2014.  Nissan’s teaser video released in the past year had featured a group of redesigned car models wrapped under sheets which also covered the upcoming models of the brand. The video clip also included the Rogue and Murano was not there. The Murano is expected to be coming next year.

In all probabilities the Rogue and Murano hybrid versions will be using the engine used in the Pathfinder hybrid with some variation which happens to be a combination of supercharged four-cylinder and electric motor.  No words are forthcoming on the looks of the Murano yet though we can pretty well guess that it will be looking like the Resonance concept of the Nissan. And there is no word on the redesigning of the Murano CrossCabriolet droptop unless Nissan plans to sell lesser of the convertibles.
