Here is the unobtrusive view of the Chevrolet Malibu for 2016. Look at the fastback profile which swoops down, the way the rear glass subtly flows into the lip spoiler and spreads out into the rear shoulders broadly. It is like meeting of the Audi A7, and the Tesla Model S., This gorgeous European executive luxury level car, wears the proud badge of gold bow tie on its nose belonging to Chevrolet.
Prior to the next month New York International Auto Show debut of the Malibu, the maker has published this teaser video. After deducting what we seen in the camouflaged spy shots last summer, the new Malibu looks a more stylish fastback than its present model. The wheelbase has been increased by four inches which is covered in sleek sheet metal, and the extended length according to Chevy would go into improving legroom in the back which is skimpy.
Beside the growth in length, Chevy predicts a sizable weight loss of 300 lbs for the Malibu, and this has been made possible by inducting high-strength steel in the body. Regarding the design of the car the VP of GM global design says that the roofline has gone for a rearward stretch, shaping the profile more sleek, overhand of both front and rear has been reduced and the front wheels have inched forward a little. Ed Welburn, VP, also says in the press release that with the new cues the Malibu appears more sophisticated and dynamic.
This sophistication and renewed dynamics would certainly go a long way to lifting the reputation of Malibu. Between the promised cabin space, weight loss and a better looking body we are eager to see the lights on the 2016 model turned on soon, so that the curiosity triggered on by the squinty teaser video is put to rest.
