The Bolt Sport by Tata Motors was showcased at the ongoing Geneva Motor Show of 2015. It is but the performance-oriented version of its previous Bolt Hatchback, known so for its offering of a sportier look and power which is, more than the one offered in the version on sale currently.
In accordance with the new sporty design language is a new grille which supplements to the whole look. Also added to the new Bolt Sport is a sporty body kit with a new rear bumper and to the front we have projector headlamps. The 17-inch alloy wheels are newly designed as well. The alterations are not limited opt the exterior but complimenting the whole change are the subtle yet potent variations made in the interiors. New leather upholstery which is completed by contrasting red stitches & accents makes for a stylish and elegant seating. A touch screen infotainment system which comes with a voice recognition feature SMS readout, and sunroof are few of the other features that makes the interiors technologically advanced. There have been taken appropriate measures on the safety front as well, what with the model coming equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS), dual airbags, corner stability control and speed-dependant volume control.
The engine powering the new Tata Bolt Sport will be a 1.2litre turbocharged petrol engine, which is also seen as part of the regular versions of Bolt and Zest. The mill of Bolt Sport is although tuned as such to give a better performance and higher efficiency, with an ability of churning out power of 120bhp and a peak torque of 170Nm. The engine comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox, sending power to front wheels of car. A likely introduction of this model which comes with drive options including Eco, Coty and Sport, in India is expected to occur by the end of this year.
