The first pictures of the SsangYong LIV-1 crossover concept, that is the one the new Rexton will be built on, appeared on the Internet. The official debut of this car will take place at the Seoul Motor Show on 28 March.
The SsangYong Company will show its next \"interface\" concept car at the Seoul Motor Show, which opens the day after tomorrow, March 28. This time the Korean manufacturers decided to get rid of the XIV and SIV names and called the new concept LIV-1. This abbreviation stands for Limitless Interface Vehicle, but that is not that important. The important news is that this LIV-1 concept will most likely become a serial car with its own production line. The overall size of the serial car is still unknown but it is already known that it will be larger than the current Rexton SUV and shorter than the Rodius (Korando Turismo, Stavic) minivan.
There’s a rumor that the LIV-1 concept is a prototype of the new Rexton, although there was no official statement that would give such idea. The company representatives didn’t comment on this rumor as well. The technical characteristics, especially the engine type, are unknown as well, but there’s plenty to be seen already and that’s the design of the car.
Just look at this gorgeous crossover, it has a harmonious yet manly design and most importantly looks like a European car. The details of the LIV-1 are also something you might want spend your money on. Just look at the sculpted fenders, stylishly curved D-pillars, door handles hidden in the C-pillars. And the two-section panoramic roof deserves a gold medal, that’s how amazing it looks.
The future of this interesting model with 2+2+3 seating formula will be revealed after the official debut at the Seoul Motor Show. It is obvious even today that this concept is more than just a concept, it is a crossover everyone will be able to buy for their families in the nearest future, say in the 2015-2016 years. Well, only one day separates us from the official SsangYong statement about the LIV-1’s future and we just have to wait.
