Hennessey Venom GT became the fastest road car in the world.

The Hennessey Venom GT Supercar became the fastest road car in the world gaining the speed of 427.6 km/hour while the representatives from the Guinness Book of Records were watching the car on track.

Koenigsegg CCR, McLaren F1, SSC Ultimate Aero TT, Bugatti Veyron/Veyron Supersport,

Hennessey Venom GT, what unites these cars? Well, the fact that all of them were named the fastest road cars of the world. It may seem like the Hennessey Venom GT doesn’t belong in this list but that’s not true. This car has recently made a new world record in accelerating from 0 to 300 km/hour speed for only 13.63 seconds. But this wasn’t enough to be considered the fastest car in the world, well, until the Hennessey Venom GT set a new Guinness record.

On February 9th the Hennessey Venom GT driven by Brian Smith in the presence of representatives of the Guinness Book of Records got the average speed of 427.6 km/hour on the airstrip of the U. S. Air Force Limure Airport (California).

Those who are following the history of similar records may object that in summer of 2010 Bugatti Veyron Supersport driven on the secret VW AG Era-Lessin testing ground accelerated up to 431 km/hour. The thing is that the serial Bugatti car has a maximum speed electronically limited to 415 km/hour that’s why Hennessey Venom GT is actually the fastest road car in the world. Every driver who seats behind the Venom’s wheel can gain the record speed because it is not limited like the Bugatti’s is.

This supercar weights 1244 kg and has the 1244 liters per second. It also has a GM’s modified 7.0 liter V8 bi-turbo engine with the maximum torque of 1564 Nm. During the record setting the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires were installed.

The price of this incredible supercar that will be produced in a limited series of only 29 copies starts from $ 1.2 million. Well, this seems like a proper price for a car that fast. Although, if you are not a speed fan and don’t need to have the fastest car in the world, you can buy something slower and less expensive.
