The second generation of Nissan Qashqai crossover is built with new modular platform. The debut of this car will happen in November and the sales will start next year.
Nissan Qashqai first appeared in 2006 and has immediately won the hearts of millions of buyers around the world. The second generation of this amazing car, according to people who build it, will become a completely different vehicle. This new crossover will be based on new modular platform which will pretty soon be given to mid-size Renault and Nissan cars, including Megane and X-Trail. Nissan engineers talk about the premium level of design of new generation, interior as much as exterior. Crossover will remind us of the Hi-Cross concept that was shown in Geneva last year. The changes include new materials used for salon trimming, increased space of the salon with unchangeable exterior size of the car.
And the greatest part is that we’ll be able to see the second generation of Nissan Qashqai pretty soon, according to Auto Express, the crossover’s debut is planned on November 2013.
New Nissan Qashqai and its basic versions will stay equipped with front wheel drive. However there is an alternative option to the mono-drive presented with the 4×4 transmission. As for the engine packages, the atmospheric petrol one will be replaced with more powerful (with 190 N-m) 1.2 liter compressed engine with three cylinders and 115 hp of capacity. This engine works according to Miller cycle. The basic diesel engine will be presented with the 1.6 liter option that ejects less than 100 g of CO2 per each km of the road.
The interesting thing is that a hybrid version of this car will appear in 2015. This future Qashqai will become the most ecological in the entire model line because of only 50 g of CO2 ejection per 1 km. The sales of the second generation will start next year, and the great part is that the prices will stay the same for each new model. This might be the best gift Nissan Company could give to its customers.
