In the last year’s crush tests of Euro NCAP association some mixed models participated. And this time the experts have tested the Chevrolet Trax crossover, Dacia Sandero hatchback, Nissan Evalia van, also known as NV200, and Renault Captur SUV.

The class of compact crossovers is increasing every day. There’s hardly remained a company that doesn’t produce or develop a vehicle for this segment of the market. Naturally, every new car is immediately going to the hands of Euro NCAP specialists. However, the tests results will not assist the potential clients in making choices, as all of the cars have scored some great results with highest possible ratings.

The best results in the series of crush tests for this segment showed the Chevrolet Trax SUV. The car managed to receive a final rating of five stars. The adult occupant’s protection reached the 94% rating, protection of children - 85% and pedestrian’s safety - 64%. The level of electronic equipment with assisting systems was estimated at 81%.

The second best result in this crush session belongs to Renault Captur crossover. The final protocol has slightly lower points than its competitor, Chevrolet Trax SUV does. The adult passenger’s safety is estimated at 88%, younger passengers’ protection got the 79% and the level of electronic equipment with assisting safety systems is the same as Chevrolet has.

The new Dacia Sandero hatchback also showed some great results no one expected to see. It got the four star safety rating, but that’s really good. Euro NCAP specialists gave the four-door vehicle 80% for the adult’s passengers protection. Almost the same number was given to children’s safety – 79%. The technical equipment, however, got a slightly disappointing result of only 55%. That’s why Sandero didn’t get the fifth star.

The commercial transport showed traditionally bad ratings. Nissan Evalia got a final score of only three stars. But it still got the relatively high points for pedestrian protection – almost 61% that is a great result for a van.
