What Jaguar is having under the heavy camo wrap spotted by spy photographers? Well, it is a SUV or crossover which is being tested for production and has been sporting glitzy wraps to cover its identity while testing.
We already knew from the 2015 Detroit Show that the next Jaguar SUV will be the tallest, and it will be christened as F-Pace. The name might sound a little out of place, but we assure you that the vehicle won’t be. In spite of the disguise, it is clear that the new Jag has taken off on the C-X17 concept that we witnessed at the Frankfurt car show. If you are not able to visualize it, we have to tell you this: It is very attractive.
Now the question is how the new SUV or crossover matters? The British automaker has been in operation over two decades on the SUV front, but it is still smaller to the German giants, what with the XE sedan from BMW-s series to contend with. In a scenario where the coupes and sedans have given away substantial grounds to the crossovers and SUVs it has become necessary for Jaguar to establish its own SUV to stay in the competition, as the company has already been late to make an entry.
The F-pace crouches on the same architecture of modular aluminum where the XE sedan is concerned. The very flexible architecture will also feature the new generation XF, coming soon, which would mean that Jaguar will be delivering a scale which has not been seen before. A new production line will be introduced at Solihull, England to build this vehicle.
Last time the F-pace prototype was not capture in its full glory when we had a brush with it, this time around it is delivered in its full bodywork offering us the final body shape which is quite dramatic.
